CONCEPT:
This is a novel-inspired poster. After reading Da Lie by Hu Bo, the original novel of the movie An Elephant Sitting Still, I transformed my feeling of the stories into the poster. The characters are living in a hopeless society, having no expectations of themselves. I can feel the extreme depression, irony, and pain through the words, as well as the powerlessness of being unable to change the world. I chose a random chapter, redrew each word into a kanji-like shape, then separated the lines of the characters and formed
it like hollows. Hollows represent the darkness that exists in everyone’s inner mind.
