CONCEPT:
I designed these foldable posters for a workshop on graphic design and auxetic folding patterns, which I conceptualized and led at the Exploratorium in San Francisco in August 2018. Each poster folds up to become an animated lo-fi toy that squashes and stretches the lettering.
The lettering itself was inspired by the various auxetic fold patterns depicted and described on the posters. Each different fold pattern has its own unique (and bizarre) mechanical behavior.
