CONCEPT:
The basic idea of this work is to recognize and question language and thus typography as a tool of manipulation. If one understands typography as a servant of language, it cannot defend itself against the content that it transports. Why shouldn’t we understand writing as a living organism? Variable fonts are hyper-flexible. They adapt to the end device (i.e., the reader) and can be linked with technical impulses. This book accompanies the draft of Truncus, a font that emancipated itself in times of fake news. It consists of a documentary and an accompanying part, which are connected by a multi-fold, screen-printed envelope.
