CONCEPT:
Los Angeles Magazine approached me to illustrate the headline for an article about oil in Los Angeles. The challenge was to create lettering that looked like oil, while being legible and visually interesting. I took inspiration from the density and dynamic behavior of oil itself and built the letters as if they were splashes in order to add movement and richness to the title.
