CONCEPT:

Inspired by the physical and spiritual principles of the Chinese arts, such as calligraphy and martial arts, this book is about the process of writing. Repetition, mindfulness, concentration, practice and perseverance play a major role and thereby form the basis for handmade type design.



Without providing technical knowledge, it is reminiscent of old type specimen books and offers insights into the creative process of lettering. Using letters and typography as some kind of external reference point, the sequence of the pages is very finely tuned, so one feels like moving through an exhibition inside a book.
