CONCEPT:

Froben Antiqua is a serif typeface family intended for character-heavy communication, editorial, and book design. Details and proportions, which bring character to both small and large sizes, are inspired by the works of famous Basel Renaissance printers Johann and Hieronymus Froben. Clear differentiation of round and straight forms and variations in letter width make for distinctive patterns in all styles. There is a strong emphasis on the relationship between text and display and their respective italics, and also the pan-European extensions cyrillic and Greek. (Froben Antiqua was developed during Ueli's MA in Typeface Design program in 2014-2015 at the University of Reading.)
