CONCEPT:
Canal Plastics Center is one of the best places for plastic material in New York City. The company has been around for decades and is one of those businesses you can imagine finding only in New York. Through this project, I wanted to show everyone how visually inspiring a piece of plastic can be. First, I did a letterform experiment to explore the special letterform of Canal Plastics, inspired by the flexibility and non-light tight characteristics of plastic sheets. Then I did a color and texture experiment to explore the unique color and pattern of plastic, as well as to experiment with Photoshop to distort pictures and give them a plastic texture.
