TDC63 Exhibitions Open in Warsaw and Madrid

Type Directors Club is pleased to let our European friends know that the latest edition of The World’s Best Typography (TDC63 and 2017 Type) is now open through summer in two major cities:

In Warsaw, the exhibition is running through August 15 at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, the second year that PJAIT has hosted the show. Details and hours: http://www.pja.edu.pl/en/news/tdc-2017

In Madrid, the exhibition is running at Centro Cultural Matadero, courtesy of DiMAD, through September 7. See photos of the opening here. Details: https://dimad.org/tdc-63/

Thank you to our international partners for all the publicity and exhibition support. To date, the show has been on display in the following cities:

April 7 – June 23: Tokyo, Japan at the Mihoncho Honten paper showroom, sponsored by Japan Typography Association. See photos of the installation here.

May 26 – June 10: Seoul, South Korea at Chungmu Art Center Gallery, supported by the Korean Society of Typography, DECD, DPDA, CA, and PAPER MORE, who organized tours and extensive publicity for the exhibition, drawing over 2,100 visitors. See photos of the installation here.

August 4-5: San Antonio, Texas at Southwest School of Art, sponsored by AIGA-SA as part of their SAns + Serif typography show and workshop. See photos of the opening here.

August 25-27: Boston at Park Plaza Hotel as part of TypeCon

September 4-14: Osaka, Japan at the Paper Voice Gallery, sponsored by the Japan Typography Association and TAKEO Co. Ltd.

September 12-16: Montreal, Quebec in association with the ATypI conference.

September 15-October 29: Bangkok, Thailand at Chulalongkom University, sponsored by Typographic Association of Bangkok (TAB), Cadson Demak, and the Faculty of Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Arts Design.

October 18: Paris at the Salle Pleyel concert hall as part of ECV’s 33rd anniversary celebration

October 18-20: Las Vegas at the AdobeMAX conference.

November 13-30: Sabadell, Spain at the Escola d’Art i Disseny ILLA. Installation photos here.

November 15-30: Hanoi, Vietnam at the Goethe-Institut.

November 17-December 31: Lublin, Poland at Dom Słów (House of Words) in association with Studio Sztuki PJATK (PJATK Art Studio).

We will announce more touring locations in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East in the future, but the upcoming schedule includes:

December 8 – 14: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam at 92 Lê Thánh Tôn, sponsored by Goethe-Institut,

December 15-February 17: London at the London College of Communication.

February 17-March 17: Nantes, France at the ECV campus.

In addition to these locations, exhibitions are also scheduled to open in the following cities, with dates and locations to be announced:

  • January 2018: BAU Design College of Barcelona; Bezalel, Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem
  • February 17-March 17, 2018: ECV, Nantes, France
