Typographics Festival events include a conference, tours, talks, workshops, a Book Fair, and TypeLab.
Speakers for this year’s conference include: Anton & Irene, Gail Bichler, Bahia Shehab, Veronika Burian & José Scaglione, Silas Munro, Shannon Harvey, Peter Bilak, Tamara Shopsin, Lance Wyman, Teddy Blanks, Sarah Gephart & Alicia Cheng, Massimo Pitis, Bobby C. Martin, Mr. Keedy, Toshi Omagari, Ken Barber, Mike Essl, Jennifer Daniel, Amy Lee Walton, Parasto Backman, Irene Pereyra, and Ellen Lupton. The conference takes place in The Cooper Union’s historic Great Hall.
The Book Fair will include great independent booksellers and publishers including Godine, Left Bank Books, Display, Letterform Archive, Inventory Press, Katherine Small Gallery (this is Michael Russem of Kat Ran Press’s new gallery) and Oak Knoll. Also, Lubalin Center will be selling duplicates and the center’s own publications. We’re hoping House Industries will be there too. The Book Fair will be open on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17. Sunday the public is welcome! Saturday is just for conference ticket holders.
Type@Cooper has organized a lot of workshops and tours around the conference and Petr van Blokland is presenting the TypeLab again this year. Thursday, June 14 the TypeLab is free and open to the public. The other days, ticket holders only may attend.
TDC members receive discounts on the conference. Email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask for the discount code.
