Drew Hodges created SpotCo to change the way theater posters were
designed. Join Drew in conversation with Steven Heller for a presentation
featuring memorable imagery from dozens of stage productions and
the stories behind them.

Drew Hodges is founder of Spot Design(1987), SpotCo(1997) and most recently DrewDesignCo(2016). Along with a team of 228 collaborators over the last 20 years, SpotCo has sold over 30 million tickets to live entertainment, and created the branding and advertising campaigns for numerous Broadway shows and cultural institutions including Rent, Chicago, The Color Purple, Kinky Boots, Avenue Q, Book of Mormon and Hamilton, among many others. SpotCo has represented 9 Pulitzer Prize winners, as well launching the winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical the last 9 years in a row. Cultural institutions include The New York Botanical Gardens, 92nd Street Y, Paul Taylor Dance, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall among others.
DrewDesignCo is Mr Hodges’s new design lab, devoted to branding and design for entertainment and culture. Current New York projects include The Future of Storytelling Festival(FOST), Sweeney Todd(Barrow Street Theatre), Sweat –moving from a sold out run at the Public Theater, John Guare’s Six Degrees of Separation, Tina Fey’s upcoming Mean Girls, and branding for The Perelman Performing Arts Center at The World Trade Center. www.drewdesignco.com
Mr. Hodges has taught graphic design at his alumni The School of Visual Arts, and at The Maine College of Art, lectured at Columbia University and served as President of the New York chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts/New York. He is the author of On Broadway: from Rent to Revolution, published April 2016 by Rizzoli Publishing.
