In light of recent public health updates regarding COVID-19, ECV Nantes has suspended all activities on campus through April 16.

Organized by ECV Nantes in partnership with the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Nantes (ENSA), the Type Directors Club 65 exhibition will take place from Wednesday March 4 to Saturday March 28, 2020 at Galerie Loire, 6 quai François Mitterrand.

TDC 65: a traveling exhibition

Founded in 1946, the Type Directors Club was founded in New York to promote the art of typography and the quality of creation of typographic design. Today, TDC organizes an annual competition to recognize the best typographic font design and graphic design in communication media, such as posters, book covers, magazines, packaging, signage, film credits, and web design. Since its founding, TDC has grown, creating an international network known for its professionalism and outreach to the world. ECV Nantes is proud to play its role in TDC’s international outreach. For the past fifteen years, the ECV has hosted TDC traveling exhibitions, which arrive in a suitcase containing a wide range of items selected each year by a professional jury, representing the best of contemporary graphic and typographic creations.

ECV Nantes x TDC, a visual collaboration

Each year, students in the first-year Masters in Graphic Design program at ECV Nantes are invited to design the visual identity for the exhibition as a group project. A jury selected the project of Teddy Pouteau, Morgan Texier and Peio Ospital for the visual identity of the TDC 65 in Nantes. Visitors can admire their work on the façade of the Loire Gallery throughout the exhibition.
