TDC63 Exhibition in Beijing

The Type Directors Club 63rd Annual Communications Design and 2017 Typeface Design Exhibitions are part of The Way of Type 2018, a three-part exhibition and associated design events that are travelling through China. In Beijing, the Type Directors Club show is presented alongside The Ninth Founder Type Design Competition, GTI Course Exhibition Tour, a typography and design symposium, and workshops. FounderType and QL-ARTare sponsors of the show.
The “Type Directors Club 63” exhibition includes over 200 selections of winning work from the TDC’s annual international typeface design competition and communication design competition selected by an international jury of top designers.
The exhibition displays typography in a wide range of categories including books, posters, corporate branding, logos, web graphics, film and TV titles, products, and magazines from many countries including the United States, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the People’s Republic of China, South Korea, and others.
The curator of the Way of Type 2018 project is Liu Zhao, the Deputy Diretor of Chinese Characters and Arts Research Center at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. The curatorial assistant for the project is Zhou Zijian.
Organizer of the Beijing exhibition is the Chinese Font Design and Research Center, Dongdao Design School, and FounderType alongside co-organizers CITIC Press, Park, and Tosee. FounderType and QL-ART are sponsors of the type exhibition and event.
This TDC63 exhibition opens in Beijing following the exhibition’s tour to Tokyo, Seoul, Warsaw, Madrid, Bielefeld, Bangkok, Hanoi, London, Santo Domingo, and New York. The Way of Type 2018 will tour to Shanghai, Nanjing, and other cities in China.
