Martina Flor—The Golden Secrets of Lettering
June 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Talk and book signing! Martina Flor’s new book, The Golden Secrets of Lettering (Princeton Architectural Press) is a comprehensive, beautifully illustrated guide to hand lettering. Martina shows readers how to transform their initial lettering concepts and hand sketches into a well-shaped, exquisite piece of digital lettering that can be sold and published.
With a foreword from TDC Chairman Matteo Bologna, this book was conceived with Martina’s personal belief that everyone can learn to draw letters.
In this talk, Martina will dive deep into the minutiae of lettering art. She will accompany you through the pages of her book, telling you how the content evolved, anecdotes about the making of, as well as explaining important concepts of letter design that you can use for your own creative work. The talk will cover the creation of lettering from sketch to final artwork and give valuable insights of the daily work of a lettering artist.
The talk will be followed by a book signing.
Martina will conduct a lettering workshop, Saturday, June 10, at the TDC! More information here.
