“FEMINAE, Typographic Voices: of Women, by Women” with Gloria Kundrup and Meryl Vedros
March 26, 2019, Type Directors Club, NYC

Typography empowers communication whether it’s a hand-painted sign, a silk-screened message, or letterpress printed word. Gloria Kundrup presents posters curated from the archives of the Center for the Study of Political Graphics — a selection that examines issues such as choice, gender inequality, war, and violence against women — featuring works by Barbara Kruger, Sister Corita Kent, the Guerilla Girls, and others.

The presentation is followed by a discussion with designer Meryl Vedros on the value of posters and design in social activism.

Gloria Kundrup is the Executive Director of the Hoffmitz Milken Center for Typography at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California. HMCT’s mission is to advance and elevate typography.

Meryl Vedros is the Creative Director and owner of Vedros Studio, a company specializing in brand design and field research.
