Type designers Adi Stern and Veronika Burian provide a behind-the-scenes look at the development of Noam Text, a dual-script Latin-Hebrew type family.

The talk begins with TypeTogether’s Veronika Burian giving her perspective on global typography. Adi Stern then gives a short history of Hebrew type design, and shares his personal and bumpy path of developing Noam Text.

The Dichotomies exhibition, which features posters by 14 designers and illustrators using Noam Text, is on view at Type directors Club through January 30. View it here.

Professor Adi Stern is the current president of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem, Israel’s first and leading art and design academy. He is a graphic designer, type designer, and design educator who graduated from Bezalel and received his Master’s in Typeface Design from University of Reading in the United Kingdom.

Veronika Burian is a product designer and type designer, who received her Master’s in Typeface Design from University of Reading. She is the co-founder of the independent type foundry TypeTogether with José Scaglione, which publishes award-winning typefaces and collaborates on tailored typefaces for a variety of clients.
