TDC47 Competition Results

This has been an exceptional year for the Type Directors Club Annual International Competition, TDC47. With nearly 3,300 entries submitted from 28 (including the U.S.), only 140 were selected, which is the least amount in the last 21 years.

The jury included Richard Baker (Premiere magazine); Matthew Carter (Carter & Cone); Jonathan Hoefler (The Hoefler Type Foundry); Robynne Raye (Modern Dog), Wendy Richmond (Communication Arts); Paul Souza (PhotoAccess.com) and Lynn Staley (Newsweek). The competion chairman was Ronn Campisi, of Ronn Campisi Design.

Typography: The Annual of the TDC

The winning works will appear in Typography 22. Designed by Gail Anderson, Senior Art Director, Rolling Stone magazine, and being published by HBI, a division of HarperCollins, the Annual is the leading record of the best in type and typography for the year 2000.

Exhibition

The opening of the TDC47 Show is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at Parsons School of Design, 2 West 13 Street, New York City and will be on display until August 15.

The show will travel throughout the world during 2001 and 2002.
