TypeCon 2001
Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) conference
Friday - Sunday, 13 - 15 July 2001
TypeCon 2001 will take place from July 13-15 at the Four Points Sheraton in downtown Rochester. Conference activities will begin Friday afternoon and run through Sunday evening.
Planned program topics and activities include a "Master's Session," type in publishing, copyright and business issues, the future of online type, e-commerce, hinting classes, type workshops, type, design and art gallery, auction, vendor booths, pool party, all-star designer/musician jam session, East End Music Festival and much more.
Additional participants and programs will be announced prior to the conference.
TypeCon2001 is sponsored by the not-for-profit Society of Typographic Aficionados. SOTA is an international organization dedicated to the promotion, study, and support of type, its history and development, its use in the world of print and digital imagery, its designers, and its admirers.
The conference is attractively priced, with discounts given to students and SOTA members. An additional discount is offered to those registering for the conference prior to March 1, 2001.
