From Pirelli Calendars to Prayer Books
Talk by Derek Birdsall RDI

Derek Birdall is one of the most distinguished graphic designers working in
Britain today. Designer of the first Pirelli Calendar in 1964, his work has
included the Monty Python books, a large number of Penguin book jackets,
and The Independent Magazine (1988).
His design for the new prayer book of
the Church of England, Common Worship: Services and Prayers for the Church
of England (2000), has been widely acclaimed.
There will be a last chance
before and after the talk to see the exhibition in the St Bride Printing
Library's exhibition room of Derek Birdsall's designs for Common Worship.
