Teri Kahan :

In Hawaiian, kaha means to draw, make marks, turn, or surf. The same letters make up the last name of designer Teri Kahan, and it's no mere coincidence. Teri loves to draw, and a passion for nature, the ocean and all things Hawaiian inspires her life and artwork.

The free-spirited, Southern California artist Teri Kahan wears many hats: graphic designer, type designer, calligrapher, illustrator, photographer and educator. With a career spanning almost 30 years, she currently specializes in logos and corporate communications.

Teri has designed fonts for ITC and also develops proprietary fonts, a notable example of which is Toyota's Lexus font. She has received numerous design awards and been published in countless books and magazines. She also exhibits as a fine artist. Recently she was juried into the prestigious Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach, CA for her serenely beautiful photo montages

Teri discovered her passion for photography, drawing and the letter arts at a young age, and shares her interests by teaching workshops at conferences, colleges and museums. Proficient in multiple media, her courses range from pencil to pixel, encompassing both the traditional and digital realms of lettering, illustration and design.
