Exhibition :
Selected manuscripts from the NYPL collection displayed with spreads and bindings. A hundred examples from the collection of religious, scientific, literary, teaching, and history books, in a variety of languages (Latin predominating) and calligraphic and scribal styles, with most of the manuscirpts in a variants of Blackletter, and some in Chancery and Humanist Antiqua. Illuminations range from early Mediaeval to late Flemish, from stylized to naturalistic.
