TypeCon2005 :
Now's the time to register for TypeCon2005! This exciting and affordable conference, presented by The Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) with the Type Directors Club (TDC), is hosted by Parsons School of Design. TypeCon2005 is the premiere event during "Type Week" in New York, and includes five days of presentations, exhibitions, hands-on workshops, and special events.
Speakers :
TypeCon2005 features more than 60 speakers, including Gail Anderson, Ed Benguiat, Neville Brody, Matthew Carter, Louise Fili, Drew Hodges, House Industries, Gerard Huerta, Alexander Isley, Alessio Leonardi, Ellen Lupton, Daniel Pelavin, Paula Scher, Erik Spiekermann, Strange Attractors, and Jakob Trollbäck.
Talks, Panels, Exhibits :
Topics for TypeCon2005 will include typography and design for publications, graffiti and tattoo lettering, the work of Eric Gill, blackletter type, design education, font development tools, design for entertainment, multilingual type design, and type in motion. TypeCon2005 will feature the premiere of the second Typophile Film Festival, and the openings of exhibitions from the TDC, SOTA, and FontShop International.
