Established in January 2005, the Third Tuesday is organised by the Typographic Circle and the Friends of St Bride. It is a group of like-minded people with a passion for type who gather for convivial evenings of conversation and typographic debate. The Third Tuesday was established as a means of bring together individuals who work in an industry that is widely a dispersed and often isolated.
Anyone can come along and join in the fun in the back room of the Punch Tavern, Fleet Street— so-named as it was here that the founders of Punch met to discuss their new publication. The Punch is an ideal venue for this informal gathering that attracts an average of 70 individuals from across the industry. Entry is free of charge, and the Third Tuesday provides its guests with complimentary drinks and snacks and a convivial environment in which to make contacts, exchange information, debate ideas and conduct a little business.
