The Concert to Benefit St Bride Library :

Passamezzo will present Gallimaufry, a concert of Elizabethan and Jacobean music from the Court, the country, the playhouse and the streets, in aid of St Bride Library. There will be a melange of theatre songs, broadside ballads, street cries, consort songs, divisions, music from the court masque, dance tunes, a devotional song and Italian fantasias.

Passamezzo—which has performed at St Bride Institute before—features Tamsin Lewis (Renaissance violin, tenor viol and lute), Peter Luke Kenny (countertenor and actor) and Alison Kinder (bass viol and recorders).

This is part of a wide tour that Passamezzo is making, with performances in Oxford, Warwick, Norfolk, Suffolk, Rugby and the Isle of Wight in addition to three in London. But in the Bridewell Hall, the performers will be in Elizabethan costume and will perform by candlelight.

Tickets :

Tickets, which are on sale in advance, can be obtained from St Bride Library (020 7353 4660) either:

• £10 (£8 concs) for the concert at 7:30pm
• £15 (£13 concs) for the concert and a wine reception from 6:30pm

Those unable to collect in advance, please phone the Library to reserve tickets saying whether you plan to attend both the reception and the concert, or only the concert.
