Venus Dennison, Director, Off-Air Creative Services, HBO

Dennison and her team have won numerous design awards, including Creativity, BDA International Design Awards, & Association of Graphic Communications for Leading the Art Direction for Print Campaigns. She has also had her share of the spotlight in front of the camera and was featured as an extra in an episode of "Sex and the City."

Dennison heads HBO's Off-Air Creative Services Department, the in-house agency that develops print, web, outdoor, and collateral materials for the pay TV network's Advertising and Promotion, Affiliate Marketing, Affiliate Sales, HBO Sports/PPV, Corporate Communications/Media Relations, Original Programming, HBO Properties, and HR departments. Projects have included print and online subscriber acquisition and retention campaigns, ancillary market materials, logos, trade ads, consumer ads, posters, brochures, direct mail and online marketing, point-of-purchase, exhibit displays, and web design.

Dennison joined HBO in June, 1995 as an Art Director, working on promotional advertising campaigns targeting African-American and Latino markets. She was promoted to her current position in 2001. Prior to joining HBO, Dennison held graphic designer positions in the music and publishing industries, including at Moss Music Group, Inc. Mademoiselle, Marie Claire, Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing Group, Vibe, Black Enterprise and The Source magazines.

Dennison holds a B. F. A. from Syracuse University and a Master of Design Management degree from Pratt Institute. She lives with her husband Myke and daughter Sophia in Brooklyn, New York.
