Following on from The Changing Newspaper exhibition he has curated for the Library, Simon will guide us through such themes as, Why newspapers look the way they do... and what is a Berliner anyway?

About Simon Esterson :

Simon Esterson is a London-based magazine, newspaper and book designer who has worked with Blueprint, The Guardian and Domus.

John Berry :: Contemporary newspaper design: Shaping the news in the digital age: typography & image on modern newsprint

This lecture is in celebration of John's new book of the same name. We will be celebrating the launch of this book over a glass of wine, with opportunities to buy and have copies signed from 5:30 pm.

About John D Berry :

John D Berry is a designer and writer based in the USA. Formerly the editor of ITC's much loved U&lc magazine, John has recently written the introduction to the substantial new book on Matrix magazine, as well as having edited Language Culture Type: international type design in the age of Unicode.
