We are pleased to announce the programme for 'Hidden Typography', the second annual Friends of St Bride conference on 20 and 21 October 2003. It can be be downloaded as a PDF from the St Bride website at http://www.stbride.org
If you are tired of listening to talking heads at printing conferences, don't despair: at St Bride we have a host of alternative events arranged to distract even the most jaded of conference goers.
Throughout the event :
The South London Lettering Association will be exhibiting their members' work, an exciting display of the art and craft of hand lettering in various mediums.
The Print Making students of Morley College will showing their work, which can also be purchased at prices that making them original and affordable gifts.
Jessica Spring from Chicago will be displaying 'Spiceography' an aromatic and colourful exhibition of the rich and intertwined histories of typography and the spice trade.
Macha Poynder, a Russian born, Paris based artist with a typographic twist to her work, will be producing a special installation around the theme of hidden typography.
Sam Oswick, an exceptional post-grad student in MA Communication Design at Central Saint Martins, will be contributing one of his styrofoam typo-sculptures.
The photographer Paul Watkin will be projecting typographic images of London on the wall of the Bridewell Hall during the evening reception.
