The Conversation :

Small, progressive, alternative journals and magazines were wellsprings of radical typography. Based on Steven Heller's recent book From Merz to Emigre: Avant Garde Magazines of the 20th Century (Phaidon Press), this talk will explore a wide range of experimentation that succeeded and failed from cacophonous futurism to digital deconstruction.

This talk is presented in conjunction with the FIT Visiting Artist Program Fall 2003 and the FIT Communications Design Department.
