The University of Macedonia Press and alterVision, typography &
visual communication ltd, jointly organize an international
conference with the theme 'Typography and Visual Communication:
History, Theory, Education'. The conference will take place on the
premises of the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece from 26
until 30 June 2002.
During the five days various topics will be
discussed, among which: History of Greek (and not only Greek)
printing, issues on the theory of typography, publishing and modern
technologies, design & new media, bibliography, University printing
and publishing, typographic education, calligraphy, and writing and
type design. Apart from the presentations, there will be exhibitions
and workshops relevant to the conference's themes: font design,
lithography, digital innovations, etc.
The aim of the conference is to cover as many aspects related to
typography and visual communication as possible, bringing together
people from various fields and countries.
