The Type Directors Club is proud to announce that a new TDC student group has formed at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. The FIT college student association approved the group in early December, thanks to an enthusiastic presentation by interim president Jonathan Halpern and evidence of strong interest in the group among design students at FIT. Thanks are also due to the interim board of the student group, Sean Suchara, Shannon McLean, and Hannah Greenberg. The TDC looks forward to working with them and all the TDC.FIT students. Welcome!

TDC.FIT has already been in touch with the TDC group at the Pratt Institute, TDC.PSG, and helped promote an event sponsored by the Pratt group, a presentation by designer Rocco Piscatello of his work. Rocco happens to be an adjunct professor of typography at FIT and has been honored for his wonderful posters for lectures at FIT. Also, like the Pratt group, the new FIT group has started a Facebook page. FIT is part of the State University of New York system and offers degrees in graphic design, advertising design, and packaging design, as well as illustration and exhibition design.
