Monday, October 24, 2011 from 5:45 PM to 8:00 PM (ET)
Don’t miss this unique talk and demonstration at the TDC! At 6 pm sharp, Kyle Durrie (a letterpress printer from Portland, Oregon and the proprietor of Power and Light Press) will talk about her on-going letterpressing cross-country tour in her 1982 Chevy step van, which she converted into a fully functional letterpress print shop. At 6:45, Ms. Durrie will take the attendees (limited to 30) to her truck parked in the parking lot of R/GA, 333 West 39 Street. Three groups of ten (10) will see the 20-minute demonstration. Sign up early to save your spot!
Kyle has outfitted the back of her truck with built-in cabinets and workspace, a sign press from the mid 20th century, an 1873 Golding Official No. 3 tabletop platen press, and a few thousand pounds of lead, wood, iron, and love. She is spending the next nine or so months driving all over North America, teaching workshops, doing demos, and generally spreading the good word about printing the old fashioned way.

Registration is limited to 30 attendees.
