Membership Benefits :

As a member of the Type Directors Club you are invited to the clubs' presentations, which feature leading professionals in all areas of typography and design, and receive a complementary copy of the forthcoming edition of Typography, the annual of the Type Directors Club, a hard-back volume published yearly ($60 in bookstores).

All members will also receive free copies of TDC Letterspace, the club newsletter, and will benefit from reduced hanging fees in the annual TDC Competition. Other benefits include reduced member registration fees for TDC conferences as well as valuable discounts on many typeface font products, design magazines, and books.

Membership Periods :

The TDC membership year is from 1 January through 31 December, or 1 July through 30 June. The annual is distributed at the end of each calendar year.

Membership Levels :

There are five different levels of membership. The options below explain the advantages of each level of membership. Fill out the application form to receive instant access to the Members Section of the TDC Web Site along with all the advantages of membership.

Regular Members

are actively engaged in the use or design of type, as designers, production professionals or type creators. Annual dues are:

• $150 within a 60-mile radius of New York City;
• $125 outside this radius but within the USA;
• $140 outside the USA.

Sustaining Members

are businesses (three persons) or individuals who contribute $400 or more yearly. Each receives the Typography annual.

Associate Members

are those individuals who are non-professionals with an interest in the fields of typography, typography design or the graphic arts.

• Annual Associate dues are $125.

Student Members

are currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate studies leading to a career in design or the graphic arts. This level of student membership also receives the Typography annual. Proof of your current student status, including your student ID number, is required and must accompany this application.

• Annual student dues are $50.
